hi michelle, this article (link below) reminded me of your thesis discussion yesterday about weather-events. it doesn't discuss typhoons, but the article talks about a public beach in the caribbean which is subject to sporadic 'wind storms' created by jets that take off and land at an adjacent airport. it's interesting to note that half of the people at the beach actually come for these events, and half are completely oblivious beforehand. anyway, i hope you find it somewhat relevant!
